Hey this is Zack I need some ideas of good books to read?
ReplyDeleteI have a couple suggestions for you Zack. Try either the Harry Potter series or Journey to the Center of the Earth.
ReplyDeleteOkay, thank you for the suggestions
ReplyDeleteSome other good titles include "Night" by Elie Wiesel; "Tears of a Tiger" by Sharon Draper; "The El Dorado Adventure" by Lloyd Alexander; "Don't You Know There's a War On?" by Avi; and "Bronx Masquerade" by Nikki Grimes. I have a single copy of each of these books if anyone is interested.
ReplyDeleteThe Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz is very good. Also, consider "Fat Kid Rules the World" by K.L. Going; "Slam" by Walter Dean Myers; "Peeps" by Scott Westerfeld; and "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. These titles and more are available in the LRC. I invite you to come in and check them out.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading A Child Called It, its a pretty good book.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading A Child Called It as well. Its an excellent book with a good meaning behind it.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book "Eragon". Though the beggining was very slow, the book got very good. However, I just find this book to be very unreal. I know it is a fiction book, but the odds of the boy that happens to be the next rider finding the egg that hundreds of people are searching for just doesn't sound believable. Overall though, it is a good book.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Pinney, I noticed you said you had some books you were willing to loan out. I was wondering if the book "Tears of a Tiger" was interesting and what it was about. Thank you in advance.

ReplyDeleteI am reading "The Book of Three" by Lloyd Alexander. So far, the book is very good. It is about a man named Taran, who is not satisfied with his boring life. He dreams of being a warrior, like his hero, Prince Gwydion.
ReplyDeleteI finished "The Book of Three" and it was very good. I wont spoil the ending, but I will say that it is very good, and well worth the read. I would give the book an 8 out of 10.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds intresting,im reading a book called the Pretties. If into adventrous books then you might like this series, even though this book have a little bit of everything in it.
ReplyDeleteI chose the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series called "Dead until Dark" to read. It's quite interesting, and I think a lot of people would enjoy to read it. It's about vampires and such, if that's your kind of thing. I give it a 9 out of 10.
ReplyDeleteI thought my book was very good I also really like the author and the rest of the books in his series
ReplyDeleteI chose the first book in "The Secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel" series "The Alchemist" it is my favorite book.
ReplyDeleteI have read "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls. This book was about Jeanette and her siblings growing up and becoming successful adults. I have chosen this book for the bistro because it is by far my favorite book. It is so because it tells of her triumphs and how she overcame them and became a successful writer.
ReplyDeleteThe book i read was the most twisted disturbing graphic but extremely good book....i really liked it
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is titled November Blues written by Sharon M. Draper. I highly recommened teenagers to read this book. It may not relate to you personally, but it does show the struggles and obstacles we go through in high school. Although it may seem slow at times, it was definately worth the time I took to read it.
ReplyDeleteMegan that looks like a great book I've heard it's good. I am reading a book that is called "The Hollow" by Jessica Verday. It's a great suspence book and if you like mysteries it's the perfect book to read. It has a little bit of romance and a little bit of fantasy. It's a pretty big book but the type you can't put down once you start, I finished it in 3 days.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading The first part last, by Angela Johnson. It's really good, I recommened it to anyone in 9th grade or higher. It has a lot of cuss words in it, but other than that it has alot of emotional parts that will get anyone to cry....:)
ReplyDelete^^^^^ That's me Shayna Kelly. It won't let me put my name for some reason.:(
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a book called "Sweethearts". It is a very interesting book to read. i recommend it to anyone that likes a story with a little romance and strugggles between characters.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Eldest the second book in a three book series. It is about a young boy named Eragon who found a dragon egg which hatched for him. He is thrust into a magical war as a rider between Galbatorix and his opposers. He leaves the varden for magical training with Arya, Saphira and the Elves in the Elven land. He is suffering from a back wound after being sliced with black magic sword of the Durza (who he slayed) that leaves him with cripplng pain and complicates things. It is a really good but complicated book.
ReplyDeleteMy book I read is a continued version of "the child called it" the best part of the book was the end. Aleksandra and Alyssa should consider reading " the lost boy".
ReplyDeleteAll these books sound great. May have to consider reading some of them! :)
ReplyDeleteThe book I read a while ago was so good and Its probably my all time favorite. Its called A Long Road Home. The book is about a young child with a very abusive mom and a dad who can't do much about it. The book grabs you from page one, with an intense scene of the mom beating her child. So many details, the words paint the picture in your mind completely. Later on in the book her mom abandons her and tells her she will be back. After not coming back for a while she becomes a nun at a church. She falls in love with a priest (not allowed) and has this love throughout the book. Near the end when she finally goes to see her real mom , she finds out that she is dead as well as her dad. The book was so suspenseful and a must read for girls and guys!
ReplyDeleteI love to read so I can't wait for the bistro!

This is Shayna KELLY! I just finished reading a book by Sharon M. Draper, it's called November Blues. It was really good. I'm pretty sure it was the second of the series. The first was The Battle Of Jericho. I just finished reading that too. November Blues was kind of graphic. It was about this girl named November who's boyfriend Josh died in a tragic accident that happened in the first book the battle of jericho. November finds out she is pregnant with Josh's baby, she has to deal with being a teenage mother, and the fact that Josh's parents are bugging her to adopt the baby so they can have a little piece of their dead son. It's very good. Guys and girls would both be interested in it. It's from November and Jericho's point of view. By the way Jericho is Josh's cousin. I really recomend both books to anyone! Oh and by the way I got both books from the library here at school!:)
ReplyDeleteLeeann I agree with you Lovely Bones was a very good book. I seen the movie too, but in my opinion I don't think it did the book any justice. The book was sooooo much better than the movie!:) ----Shayna KELLY
ReplyDeleteShayna, I read that book for the last bistro and I LOVED it. It was a very suspensful book. I felt like high school students could really connect with the characters. Glad you're also enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading at the moment is a Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer. This is a heart-wrenching story of a young boy who is abused and neglected by his own mother. His father lets it happen which makes him just as involved. If you aren't able to handel the sad stories, I wouldn't recommend this. Other than that, it is definatley a good book.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading A Tale of Two Cities, it seems pretty interesting but I havent finshed yet.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called Bone Chiller. This book is about a young man who has moved many places after his mother died. One day he is walking home and something attacks him.the animal is bigger and faster than anything he could think of. Thats how much I have read so far.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called "Please Stop Laughimg at Me"by Jodee Blanco. It is about this girl that is getting bullied in high school and she talks about all the things the bullies did to her. It is a very interesting book.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "A Gathering of Days". It is about a girl's life who was living in nineteenth-century. The beginning was little bored because it's a historical novel, but I think it's a really interesting book. I can not stop reading and I have not finished yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "The Black Cauldron" by Lloyd Alexander. It is the second in the "Chronicles of Prydain" series. It is about a boy named Taran who has to capture a cauldron to stop the evil Arawn from creating an army of his minions. So far, it is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteKiernan- I read that book too! It was so sad, i couldn't believe what they did to her and how cruel people can be!
ReplyDeleteI’m reading “Perfect” by Natasha Friend. It’s about a girl named Isabelle and she has an eating disorder, as known as being bulimic. She keeps everything about her disorder to herself because her family is going through the loss of her father. Her little sister found out and that’s how she was put into an “Eating Disorder and Body Image Therapy Group”. Overall it’s a great book I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning about disorders and/ or about people who have it go through.
ReplyDeleteim reading a book called hiphop decoded. and its about how hiphop is involved in life and it effts peopl.
ReplyDeletei herd alot about that book megan. its a really sad book, how his mom beats on that little boy

ReplyDeleteI am reading Brians Winter which is basically Hatchet if Brian was never found
and now...i just finish Hatchet and i think it was very good. I think they should write more "what if..." sequels to books because i like the idea.
ReplyDeleteI finished my book Bone Chiller. The ending was horrible and didn't end the way I thought it would. I wouldn't recommend it because it was boring.
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Black Cauldron. I thought it was pretty good overall, despite there being some boring parts. It definitely was not as good as the first one in my opinion. however, if you are a fan of adventure books, I would say you should check this series out.
ReplyDeletewhats the name of your series Larry? It sounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe name of the book i am reading is called Demon Thief. This is the second book in the Demonata series and I think it is a very great book and also a fantastic series of books by my favorite author Darren Shan. I recommend this book to any one who likes a good wild imaginative and dramatic adventure.
ReplyDeleteIm reading New Moon it's an amazing love story that follows the first book Twilight. Its by the the novelist Stephenie Myers. If you've watched the movie read the story
ReplyDeleteReading the book and watching the movie were so diffrent! I'm amazed how the story and the movie follow up to eachother. When you read it you dont want to pay attention to anything else. Nor can you follow the story, check it out!
